Not That Simple

This year has not started out as simple as we expected. Ita funny how God's plans are not our own! Poor Sugar has had a nasty virus since Tuesday, each day we thought she was better, then we would have a set back. Thursday morning we took her to the ER because she was lethargic and dehydrated. About 2:00 this morning she woke up fussy, Mr. Nice and I tried for 2 hours to calm her down. She would calm them cry again. At one point I told Mr. Nice I felt like we had a newborn! After 4:00 sometime when Mr. Nice had Sugar she began to have a seizure. He yelled for me to call 911, I felt so paralyzed and could hardly dil the numbers. In the meantime Spice slept through all of this! Sugar and Mr. Nice headed off to the ER via abulance. O can not even explain what it feels like to watch your baby and husband drive off in an abulance. All I wanted to do was cally mom and cry, and that is what I did! In the ER sugar had a CT scan which was clear, bit seized again. We have since been transferred to our local children's hospital. Sugar has been as happy as a 20 month old can be with an IV and confined to a tiny hospital room. We now wait for tomorrow and an EEG, although her neurologist seems to think this is all spurred from her virus. Please pray for my sweet Sugar! We know that God's hand is on her and we give her healing over to Him!

  1. Oh Ashley, I'm so sorry to hear this. We will pray for your little girl. Ellie had a febrile seizure when she was a year old and it was quite frightening. I hope they can give you some good direction at the hospital.

  2. Oh poor Sugar! Poor you!! Joshua was hopitalized at that same age with similarities (no seizure, but virus, dehydrated, resp. problems). Greg remembers them tying down Josh to stick him with a needle for an IV. Josh was pleading with his eyes at Greg like, "Why are you letting them do this to me?" OH, so hard! But it made us think of Jesus, dying on the cross and His Father having to stand by and watch.

I know everything is fine with Sugar. I hope you're home soon!

  3. Oh, I can remember that feeling like yesterday! It is so scary. Yet, I felt the Lord hovering over us the entire time. I know y'all felt that same comfort. I am glad she is better and everyone is home. Blesssings to y'all!
